Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy with Children and Adolescents (IN-PERSON)

Course Overview

Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy with Children and Adolescents is an interactive training program, participants will be introduced to cognitive behavioural techniques and strategies for working with children and adolescents.

  • The ABC's of dysfunctional behaviour and emotional disturbance with children will be learned

  • Specific dysfunctional beliefs with children will be explained

  • CBT approaches effective with children and adolescents will be taught

  • Behavioural management and contingency management

  • Parenting and consultation skills will be included

  • Participants will have an opportunity to practice these new skills each day

This is a 4-day training course for participants that have previously completed the Certificate in CBT course.

For participants that have not completed the Certificate in CBT course, you will need to attend a 1-day workshop to obtain foundational knowledge in CBT.

Please ensure you let us know whether or not you have completed Certificate in CBT with us as part of your registration.

Detailed Information 

  • This is a course suitable for the beginner and for those wishing to refresh their skills. A degree in a health, helping or teaching profession is required. (e.g. Psychologists, Nurses, SW, OT, counselling, Educators, Physicians, Speech therapists).

    Provided that all requirements are met, the Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy with Children and Adolescents will be awarded at the conclusion of the course.

  • The ABC's of dysfunctional behaviour and emotional disturbance with children will be learned

    • Specific dysfunctional beliefs with children will be explained

    • CBT approaches effective with children and adolescents will be taught

    • Behavioural management and contingency management

    • Parenting and consultation skills will be included

    • Participants will have an opportunity to practice these new skills each day

    A certificate displaying the number of CPD hours will be emailed to participants, (please allow up to 10 business days) upon successful completion of the workshop.

     4-days = 28 CPD

    5-days=35 CPD

  • This course will be delivered 9am to 5pm each day.

    • credits are valid within 12 months of initial registration

    • onus on participant to contact CBT Australia to rebook within 12 months

    • withdraw from course after commencement - no certificate, credit, or refund

    • registration transferable to another person upon application
